A Very Dugdale Thanksgiving… Part 1

For the last few years we have traveled on Thanksgiving Day with Aunt Alyson to visit Brian’s family. This year, we are changing things up a bit. Some family is coming here tomorrow and we are going to see some more on Saturday. So.. today.. was travel free and just the six of us hanging out at the condo! Because tomorrow we will have more traditional Thanksgiving Day fare, today we decided to change things up and start what I hope will be a new family tradition!

The menu included Turkey Burgers, sweet potato fries, mixed veggies and pumpkin treats for dessert. Getting the kids to eat Holiday food can be tricky.. but with burgers and fries… how can you go wrong?

mmmm… pumpkin pie! *drool*
Spicy Sweet Potato Fries…
Brian working his magic on the grill. He did a fantastic job!
I so enjoy building new family traditions and making memories with the family. The Bible talks about a man leaving his family and cleaving to his wife. I think part of leaving and cleaving is to be okay with doing things with your family that are unique to you. Sure… bring in elements of your family of origin… of course.. spend time with your families…but build new traditions for your kids to carry on with them!
