What A Week This Has Been

Monday morning, around 1:30 am… Abigail came to our room with a bad dream. This is the first bad dream since we moved up here. Usually, we have someone show up at our room two or three times a week.

A couple of hours later, I heard a toy sounding off in the girls room. They were both asleep.. the toy was just going by itself… creepy at 3:30 in the morning.

A few minutes later, Elijah shows up at the door declaring that he needs to throw up… and he did. Brian wasn’t feeling to hot at this point either.

A couple of hours later, Elijah went back to bed, but Brian was still sick.

A couple of hours after that, the girls were up and ready to go… Elijah was up and throwing up again.

We were supposed to start homeschool that day.

Brian headed to the store that morning to get lysol and gatorade only to discover that the brakes in his van no longer worked…

We found out a couple of days later that to fix the car would cost way more than it is even worth.

And thus… we are a one car family… which for the time being means Brian drives an hour in the mornings to go to training and the kids and I stay home all day while he’s at work… all the while praying there is no emergency… seeing as how we don’t know anyone yet…. oh the joy. Please pray that we’d get a new car soon for Brian… he has to drive for his job. It’s not like I can just drop him off at work and pick him up in the evenings.

I put this quote up on facebook the other day:

We are not necessarily doubting that God will do the best for us; we are wondering how painful the best will turn out to be.–CS Lewis
I don’t doubt God has the best in mind for us… but it sure is painful to get there sometimes. Oh for the day when there will be no more tears and suffering.
Anyway… it’s been a rough week. Elijah finally started feeling better Monday night. We have been on edge all week wondering who will be next to get the dreaded virus… so far we’re in the clear. Although the kids did just inform me that Selah threw up on Abigail’s bed. But Elijah also told me he was pressing on her  belly really hard… so… there you go.
We needed to get out of the house Wednesday.. so we headed  to Jump Off Rock… a place in Hendersonville where you can see Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee. It was a much needed night out.

So glad that this is where we moved. It’s so pretty here.
